Njinga, Staff Support Psychologist (Post funded by the Charity)

Prior to the pandemic, my role as a staff support psychologist did not exist, it only came about as a response to the pandemic. It is just so incredible that charitable support stepped in, and so far many staff have benefitted from psychological support.

Offering a variety of support options is so important as one size doesn’t fit all; we’ve all been affected by the pandemic differently and need different types of support.

For example, we have been able to team up with the Wake the Beast Theatre company to offer support in a creative way. Using the combination of theatre and psychology, we have been able to support staff to address and cope with the trauma they’ve experienced – and engage staff who might not otherwise seek mental health support.

“I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported the Charity through the pandemic: your generosity has, without a doubt, made a huge difference in ways you might never fully see or understand.”
